<details><summary>More details?</summary><p>Why we need more funds:</p><p>During the last year our server sponsorship with Eclips.is ended, which means we now pay for a server at Netcup. Furthermore, the server we do get sponsored from <a href="https://servus.at">Servus</a> we actually would like to pay for as well.</p><p>Our experiment is to pay people's labour rather than only cloud providers. However, we also want this to be realistic. We're now upping the hourly rate from €25 to €35.</p><p>Finally, we want to be able to be able to save and invest.</p><p>On <a href="https://opencollective.com/lurk">our Open Collective</a> we now have a range for our budget indicating what is abundant, sufficient and insufficent:</p><details><summary>The Flock Thrives</summary>At €400 a month we will have significant surplus allowing us to set aside funds, make investments and better support those we depend on.</details><details><summary>Minimum Viable Habitat</summary>Based on historic data, €300 a month is the minimum amount for us to cover labour expenses with regards to systems administration, moderation and facilitation at rates common in the North-West European cultural sector. Furthermore, it allows us to cover infrastructure expenses for commercial hosting as well as donate towards our friends at Servus.</details><details><summary>Filial Cannibalism</summary>Herons have been reported to engage in filial cannibalism whereby siblings in the nest eat each other. It means we do the necessary to maintain operations but we do so unsustainably. We eat up our reserves or do unpaid work.</details><p>LURK stuff will always remain free to use.</p><p> Do not feel obligated to donate if you can't spare it.
